KAYA initiative

Purpose: To share love with special needs children living in poverty.

Our Mission is to ease the burdens of children living with developmental challenges and in poverty through;

1. Explicitly showing them love.

2. Providing basic amenities.

3. Connecting them to needed assistive devices.

FUNCTIONS

  • Paying one monthly visit to the special needs department in a government school. To identify pressing, ongoing and long standing problems then solve.

  • To organise monthly physical therapy for children that suffer immobility.

  • To seek and engage sponsors.

  • Organise competitive sporting events with the aim of improving their confidence.

  • To motivate parents/carers of special needs children.


LONGTERM FUNCTIONS

  • Establish a special needs centre to offer targeted training, care and skill.


ONGOING AND EXPECTED IMPACT

  • Support every KAYA registered family with a monthly package to enable a decent quality of life.

  • Release of children locked up at home to experience nature.

  • Caregivers will have the mental fortitude &motivation to continue with their good works.

  • Children suffering immobility will receive physiotherapy.

  • More PWD’s will register with the NCPWD and benefit off impactful GOVT initiatives.

  • In 10-20 years, through advocacy, more PWD’S will access decent job opportunities.

  • The centre will offer temporary shelter, education, emotional care, food, handy skills, and exposure to sporting activities.
